Something new is almost here - and I'd love your help bringing it to life.
I'm deep in the final stages of a brand-new pattern, and it's one I'm genuinely excited about. Whirl of Freedom is a beginner-friendly throw quilt built almost entirely from half-square triangles, finished to a generous Quilt of Valor size - approximately 66.5" × 77". It's the kind of quilt that looks like you've been quilting for years, even if you're still finding your groove.
Now I need a small group of testers to work through the pattern before it launches in September. If you've been wanting to try pattern testing, this is a wonderful place to start.
What is pattern testing?
Pattern testing means you receive a free copy of an unpublished pattern and sew through it just like any other quilter would - with fresh eyes. Your job isn't to be perfect. It's to notice things I might have missed: a step that's confusing, a measurement that doesn't feel right, or a place where a photo or diagram would have helped. Your feedback directly shapes the final pattern, and that matters more than I can say.

What I'm asking of testers
Sew through the complete pattern between August 8 and September 5, 2026
Submit written feedback using a short feedback form by September 5
A finish photo is warmly encouraged but not required to complete the process
Who this pattern is designed for
Whirl of Freedom is written for beginners - quilters who are comfortable with basic blocks and ready to tackle their first HST-heavy project. You don't need to be an expert. You do need to be honest, a little patient, and genuinely excited about this style of quilt.
If you're an intermediate or experienced quilter, you're welcome to apply too. I value thorough feedback from quilters at every level.

The application takes about five minutes. I'll review all submissions and notify everyone - accepted or not - by August 8.
Applications close August 7. Spots are limited, and I do give priority to quilters who can commit to the full testing window.
