Every Straight Stitching quilt pattern is designed, written, and tested by Tiffany. No exceptions.

From the first block layout to the final page of instructions, every pattern is built by hand and brain. Here is what that process actually looks like:

Each pattern starts as a digital design in Electric Quilt software, where block construction, fabric placement, and quilt layout are worked out before a single instruction is written. From there, every word of the pattern instructions is typed from scratch, including all cutting measurements, piecing sequences, and finishing steps. The technical illustrations and diagrams are created in Affinity Designer, not generated or sourced from anywhere else. Before any pattern is released for sale, it goes through professional technical editing and a full testing round with real quilters at multiple skill levels. If a tester finds something unclear or incorrect, it gets fixed.

Where AI is used at Straight Stitching

AI is occasionally used in two limited areas: editing blog posts and newsletters for clarity and flow, and drafting the shop listings that describe patterns in the online store. To be clear about that second one: shop listings are written based on the actual pattern content. The finished size, technique focus, skill level, and what a quilter will learn are all drawn directly from the pattern itself. AI helps organize and polish the language. It does not invent or add anything about the pattern that is not already true.

AI is never used to design quilt layouts, write pattern instructions, create diagrams, or generate any content that becomes part of a purchased pattern file.
